Adventist Health System Can’t Shake Qui Tam Case

by | Aug 2, 2012 | Firm News

A whistleblower case against Adventist Health Systems/Sunbelt for over-billing Medicare and Medicaid and Tricare survived an important step in the legal system. On July 30th, a Florida federal judge refused to toss the False Claims Act case filed by the James Hoyer Law Firm.

Judge Antoon refused to dismiss the case, saying that the relators had described Adventist Hospital’s alledged fraud in “extensive and sufficient” detail based upon firsthand personal knowledge of the company’s billing system.

James Hoyer lawyers Elaine Stromgren, Chris Casper and Sean Keefe are lead counsel for the firm on this case.
